- Sharon – Adult Center/Council on Aging Transportation Services
The Adult Center/Council on Aging has one medical van (part-time) and some volunteers to provide most of the medical transportation. If you can make your appointments fit into our schedule, you will almost always be guaranteed a ride. Please let us know when you call in your transportation request if you have any special needs. - Sharon – Council on Aging
The Sharon Council on Aging is responsible for identifying the needs of and educating the community about issues of people over the age of 60, and for providing or linking elders and their families with programs that meet their needs. Some Adult Center/Council on Aging programs are free, others have modest fees. Programs are available to persons under 60 as space permits. - Sharon – Social Services
The Sharon Adult Center/Council on Aging has a masters level social worker on staff to assist Sharon elders (60+) and their families. Assistance is also provided to those of any age with disabilities and in certain instances, non-elders. For non-elders, social services are available to assist with fuel assistance applications, Good Neighbor Energy Fund applications, and possibly help in financial emergencies. The Adult Center/COA currently offers two social worker facilitated support groups: one for caregivers and one for those with Parkinson’s Disease. - Stoughton – Senior Transportation
Medical Transportation - Stoughton senior citizens age 60 and over and people with disabilities are encouraged to use our Medical Transportation Service. Medical Transportation including wheel chair transport is available to Avon, Brockton, Canton, Easton, Randolph, Sharon and Stoughton. The fee for transportation is $2.50 each way. Tickets are sold 6 rides for $15 and 12 rides for $30. All passengers must have a ticket when boarding our vehicles. Their Medical Transportation Service is offered on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM and Friday, 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
Transportation to the senior center daily for lunch is free.
Transportation for Grocery Shopping is offered on Tuesday mornings for $2.50 each way.
Transportation to the Food Pantry on Park Avenue is available for Stoughton senior residents and disabled residents that do not drive. Transportation is free.
