- Abington – Senior Transportation – BAT
Brockton Area Transport (BAT) serves the elderly and disabled population in Brockton, Abington, Avon, Bridgewater, West Bridgewater, East Bridgewater, Stoughton, Whitman and parts of Easton, Hanson and Rockland. BAT operates a fleet of modern mini-buses, that are specifically designed for the elderly and disabled, with wide doors, high roofs, low enclosed steps, and comfortable climate controlled ride. You can use BAT to go shopping, to the doctor, and visit friends anywhere within the City of Brockton as well as limited service in Easton, Stoughton, Abington, Whitman, and Avon traveling within 3/4 of a mile of the regular scheduled fixed route bus. To arrange a trip call BAT before 4:00 p.m., at least one day in advance or contact the Abington Council on Aging (COA) for for trip reservation. Times may vary. If you are 65 or older the fare is $3:00 each way within the same community and $4:00 from one Dial-A-Bat community to another.

- Rockland – Senior Lunches
The Rockland COA organizes senior lunches served at 11:45 AM. The cost is $5.00 for entrée, sandwich of the week or small salad. All lunches include bread, milk, and dessert. See the Rockland Review newsletter for the menu. Please call 781-871-1266 by 11:00 AM to order.

The Rockland Council on Aging offers many programs including Art, Bingo, Bocce, Bridge, Cards, Chair Massage, Chair Yoga. Cribbage, Crisfit, Coloring, Computers, Corn Hole, Exercise Classes, Geronimo, Golden Agers Group, Informational Programs and Seminars, Line Dancing, Mah Jongg, Men's Group, Painting, Pickleball, Ping Pong, Pool Table, Quilting, Special Events, Strengthening and Stretching, Tai Chi, Walking Club, Washer Toss, Yoga, Zumba & Zumba Gold. - Rockland – Senior Transportation
The Rockland COA handicap accessible van is available to Rockland senior residents, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and Tuesday and Friday 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM to surrounding towns. For a ride to the Rockland Senior Center, Hanover Mall or Trucchi’s Market in Abington, please call one week prior to schedule your ride. All medical appointments should be booked two or three weeks ahead of time. Appointments for our senior van fill up very quickly and we make every attempt to accommodate everyone. - Rockland – SNAP Food Benefits
You may be eligible for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). The Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) administers SNAP benefits. SNAP provides a monthly benefit to buy nutritious foods. To get SNAP, you must be low-income and be a U.S. citizen or legal noncitizen (restrictions apply). Eligibility for benefits depends on financial and nonfinancial criteria. The Rockland COA has applications for residents to apply for SNAP benefits. If you think you may qualify, call 781-871-1266.
- Rockland – The Rockland Emergency Food Pantry
The Rockland Emergency Food Pantry is open every Wednesday 10:30 AM - 2:00 PM. A passport or a photo ID is required along with 2 pieces of current mail to a Rockland address for each and every visit. The Food Pantry is housed in The First Congregational Church of Rockland at 12 Church Street in Rockland. For more information please call 781-878-1078.
