Medfield’s Council on Aging provides “The Club” at the Center at Medfield. This safe and supportive environment provides you some time away from your daily responsibilities of caring for your loved one. Two days per week, The Club offers supervised activities and companionship in a caring, home-like setting. A vibrant "adult center", it offers stimulating programs, engaging activities, and safe exercise classes. Club members also have opportunities to socialize, reminisce, and enjoy lunch together. These are just some of the benefits of Club membership. The Medfield Council on Aging’s mission is to foster an atmosphere of wellness during the aging process among Medfield's senior population. We address the emotional, social, physical and often spiritual needs of older individuals and their families. Our goal is to enhance our member’s quality of life and promote independence through our varied programs, active social events, wide services and confidential referrals.
- Medfield – Weekly Senior Classes and Activities
The Medfield Council on Aging runs many social, craft and exercise programs including Coffee and Conversation, Bingo and Movies, Mah Jongg, Duplicate Bridge, Cribbage, Whist, Poker Club, Hand & Foot Cards, Three-Thirteen, Canasta, Scat, Quilting Class, Knitting Class, Woodcarving Club, Video Class, Strength, Stretch & Balance, Core Balance, Exercise For Life I, Exercise For Life II, Line Dancing, Mat Yoga, Chair Yoga, Zumba, Tai Chi, and Fitness Camp. - Medfield – Senior Services and Resources
The Medfield Council on Aging provides many senior services including Nursing Services, Health Insurance Counseling, Legal Consultation, Social Security/Financial Consultation, Personal Finance and Medicare Consulting, and Veteran Services. These services do require an appointment. Please call the Senior Center at 508-359-3665.
- Medfield – Senior Transportation
Medfield Council on Aging provides safe, accessible and reliable transportation for any Medfield senior. This friendly, easy to use, economical service helps older adults maintain independence, offers flexibility, and promotes socialization. It also stimulates physical and mental health. In addition to the fleet of COA vans, the COA staff can also assist with arranging Medical Essential Transportation (MET). Transportation for Medfield residents to The Center is free. A $2.00 donation is requested for in-town trips, and shopping trips to Shaws or Roche Brothers. The cost of special event and activity trips are associated with the event or activities and are indicated in respective announcements. Medical Essential Transportation (MET) is a door to door transportation service for regularly scheduled medical appointments. Available to Medfield seniors, MET is part of the COA Volunteer Driver Program and uses volunteer vehicles or COA vans. Call the Center at 508-359-3665, x200 least 24 hours BEFORE the required pick-up time. When calling, please provide the following information: name, address, telephone number, pick-up time, destination or activity.
