The Westwood Council on Aging Newsletter has all senior events, programs, and activities and is your source for senior happening in Westwood.
- Westwood – Westwood Senior Center
The Westwood Senior Center is a warm, welcoming place for anyone 60 or older (as well as disabled adults) to stay connected, stay healthy and age well. The Center offers a large variety of regular programs as well as special monthly events and lunches; we invite you to join us anytime. Most regular programs do not require sign up but some events and special lunches require you to call in advance due to limited space. - Westwood – Senior Transportation
The Westwood Council on Aging seeks to provide safe, efficient transportation to eligible Westwood
residents. The COA has two eight-passenger vans that are equipped with wheelchair lifts. Transportation is available for Westwood adult residents, 60 years of age and over and disabled residents, regardless of age. A companion or aide may accompany a senior or disabled resident to a medical appointment. Service is curb to curb, riders must be able to get in and out of the van without COA staff assistance, unless in a wheelchair. Transportation service is in operation Monday through Thursday from 8:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. and Friday from 8:30 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. for appointments within a ten-mile radius. Medical appointments are given priority scheduling over non-medical appointments. Reservations are made on a first-come, first-serve basis. Appointments can be scheduled up to one month in advance and clients are encouraged to reserve the van as soon as they schedule their appointments. Reservations must be made a minimum of two days in advance. They are unable to accommodate same-day requests. - Weymouth – Elder Service
Weymouth Elder Services welcomes all seniors (60+) to participate in many social, educational, transportation, recreational and supportive programs. Registration to programs if first offered to seniors (60+) of the Town of Weymouth and non-resident volunteers. If additional space is available, non-residents are welcome to participate. Transportation and Outreach Services are solely offered to residents of the Town of Weymouth.

DBSA offers a toll-free information and referral line, has more than 1,000 patient-run support groups throughout th U.S. and Canada, and reaches nearly five million people through educational materials and programs, exhibit materials, and media activities - EconomicCheckUp – National Council on Aging
EconomicCheckUp is a free service of the National Council on Aging (NCOA), a nonprofit service and advocacy organization. Many adults over 55 need help making ends meet, but may not know where to find resources that can help. EconomicCheckUp asks a series of questions to help identify benefits that could save you money, find ways to cut expenses and develop a concrete plan to achieve greater economic security.
