- Braintree – Senior Arts and Crafts
The Quincy Senior Center organizes varies senior arts and crafts programs including Quilting, Art Group, Photography Club, Knitting, and Crochet. See the Elder Affairs Newsletter for dates and times.
- Hingham – Senior Center Medical Rides
Door-to-door transportation Monday through Friday to local and surrounding area medical appointments between 8:30 A.M. and 2:30 P.M. Call the Hingham Senior Center at 781-741-1458 at least five working days ahead to make a reservation. Suggested donation: $5 for Hingham and abutting towns. $10 suggested donation for Quincy, Braintree, Hanover, and Scituate. Please inquire about other towns.
- Quincy – Blood Pressure Clinic
Blood pressure clinics are held every Wednesday from 11 am to noon and every Thursday from 10-11 A.M. Appointments are not necessary. Walk-ins welcome.
- Quincy – Elder Services
We provide services to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Establish support groups to address specific needs. Sponsor fitness and sports events. Offer recreational and social gatherings. Provide outreach on many different levels such as legal services, housing assistance and referral services to a host of elder care agencies. In response to the growing need of transportation, we offer medical and social transportation. - Quincy – Equipment Loan Program
This program will loan used equipment such as wheel chairs, canes, walkers, crutches to seniors in need. For more information call (617) 376-1521.
- Quincy – Financial Planning for Seniors
A financial planner offers his services at no cost to Quincy's seniors once a month. Appointments must be made through the Department of Elder Services by contacting us at (617) 376-1243.
- Quincy – Medical Transportation Program
Free medical transportation for seniors is provided for City-Wide seniors to medical establishments within the City of Quincy, or all major Boston Hospitals, Milton Hospital, Carney Hospital and Neponset Health Center. Eight vans are used to provide services, a two-week prior notice is preferred, but program will make every effort to accommodate those with shorter notice. - Quincy – Memory Cafe
The Quincy Memory Cafe usually meets the 2nd Monday of each month; 1:00 - 2:00 P.M. at Quincy Council on Aging, 440 E Squantum Street in Quincy. The Quincy Memory Cafe is for those who are caring for or experiencing some form of memory loss. The cafe provides entertainment, and simply a space for those to connect with one another who are in the same situation. Entertainment, Pastries and other small bites will be provided by Standish Village Assisted Living.

- Quincy – Senior Health Screenings
Screenings are conducted periodically throughout the year. Foot screenings are held on the 1st Monday of every month - appointment is required. To schedule an appointment for a foot screening please call (617) 376-1247. Hearing screenings are held on the 3rd Monday of every month - appointment is required. To schedule an appointment for a hearing test please call (617) 376-1247.
- Quincy – Senior Social Programs
The Quincy Senior Center organizes varies senior social activities including Scrabble, Hand and Foot Card Game, Rummikub, Corn Hole, Mah Jong, Sing-A-Long, Men’s Discussion Group, Women's Discussion Group, and Free Movie Friday. See the Senior Center calendar for dates and times.
- Quincy – Senior Trans-Van Program for Social Transportation
This is a for fee service; a three-month pass costs $25.00, or a pass for a year costs $80.00. Seniors are taken to church, movies, CVS, library, social function, etc. This program requires a two-day notice. The fees help to maintain the program. - Quincy – Serving Health Information Needs of Everyone – SHINE
SHINE counselors provide free, unbiased health insurance counseling for Medicare beneficiaries of all ages and their caregivers. SHINE counselors are trained by the Executive Office of Elder Affairs. A SHINE Counselor is available on the 1st Thursday every month. To speak to SHINE counselor please call (617) 376-1247. There is no cost for this service and all information is strictly confidential.
- Quincy – South Shore Center for Blind Seniors – SSCBS
SSCBS holds meetings twice a week at the Fore River Clubhouse on Nevada Road in Quincy. The meetings are held every Tuesday and Friday from 9:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. This group addresses many different issues for those who are visually impaired. It serves as a support group and social gathering. Members are trained in how to use various forms of equipment to help cope with limited site
- Quincy – TRIAD Senior Program – R.U.O.K.
A new program sponsored by the Norfolk County Sheriff's office. Seniors sign up for this program and each day they get a call their home to check if they are OK. If there is no answer they call back in five minutes and if there is no answer again, the police are dispatched to check on the senior.
