- Abington – Senior Transportation – BAT
Brockton Area Transport (BAT) serves the elderly and disabled population in Brockton, Abington, Avon, Bridgewater, West Bridgewater, East Bridgewater, Stoughton, Whitman and parts of Easton, Hanson and Rockland. BAT operates a fleet of modern mini-buses, that are specifically designed for the elderly and disabled, with wide doors, high roofs, low enclosed steps, and comfortable climate controlled ride. You can use BAT to go shopping, to the doctor, and visit friends anywhere within the City of Brockton as well as limited service in Easton, Stoughton, Abington, Whitman, and Avon traveling within 3/4 of a mile of the regular scheduled fixed route bus. To arrange a trip call BAT before 4:00 p.m., at least one day in advance or contact the Abington Council on Aging (COA) for for trip reservation. Times may vary. If you are 65 or older the fare is $3:00 each way within the same community and $4:00 from one Dial-A-Bat community to another.

The Avon Council on Aging offers a support group for caregivers of a loved one with memory loss on the 1st Thursday every month at 6:00 P.M. For more information call 508-559-0060.
- Avon – Council on Aging
The Avon Council on Aging is charged with recognizing and understanding the interests, needs and concerns of the town senior citizens. It is the COA's commitment to develop, design, and implement programs, as well as educate the community about aging in place. The COA primarily provides information, referrals for services, and support to ensure dignity and independence of residents 60 and over and their care partners living in the community. The COA endeavors to maximize the quality of life and help our seniors live safely and in good health with socialization at its core. - Avon – Glucose Clinic

- Avon – Senior Excercise and Fitness Programs
The Avon Council on Aging offers a range of fitness classes each week including Chair Yoga, Tap Dancing, Walking Group, and Sit-N-Fit. Dates and times are listed in the Avon COA Newsletter. For more information call 508-559-0060.
- Avon – Senior Foot Care and Nail Trimming
The Avon Council on Aging offers Foot Care and Nail Trimming on the 2nd Wednesday of every month by a registered nurse. By appointment only and home visits are available. For more information and pricing call 508-559-0060.
- Avon – Senior Luncheons
The Avon COA Café offers senior luncheons on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at a cost of $4.00 per person. Fresh fruit and dessert served with each meal. Homebound seniors and caregivers can receive regular or medical meals five days a week. The Avon Council on Aging Newsletter lists luncheon menus. Please contact the Avon COA for more information.

The Avon Council on Aging offers a range of fitness classes each week including Games/Cards, Movies, Restaurant Group, Sewing Group, Quilting, and Coffee Hour. Dates and times are listed in the Avon COA Newsletter. For more information call 508-559-0060.
- Avon – Serving Health Insurance Needs Of Elders – SHINE
SHINE counselors provide free, unbiased health insurance counseling for Medicare beneficiaries of all ages and their caregivers. SHINE counselors are trained by the Executive Office of Elder Affairs. A SHINE Counselor is available on the 1st Thursday every month. Call the Avon COA at (508) 559-0060 to schedule an appointment. There is no cost for this service and all information is strictly confidential.

- Stoughton – Senior Transportation
Medical Transportation - Stoughton senior citizens age 60 and over and people with disabilities are encouraged to use our Medical Transportation Service. Medical Transportation including wheel chair transport is available to Avon, Brockton, Canton, Easton, Randolph, Sharon and Stoughton. The fee for transportation is $2.50 each way. Tickets are sold 6 rides for $15 and 12 rides for $30. All passengers must have a ticket when boarding our vehicles. Their Medical Transportation Service is offered on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM and Friday, 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
Transportation to the senior center daily for lunch is free.
Transportation for Grocery Shopping is offered on Tuesday mornings for $2.50 each way.
Transportation to the Food Pantry on Park Avenue is available for Stoughton senior residents and disabled residents that do not drive. Transportation is free.
